Saturday, June 15 - Daniel Boone National Forest & Great Smokey Mtns National Park

Asheville and headed into the Great Smokeys

Mountain Cabins are scattered about the hillsides

Cherokee, NC

Drive thru the Great Smoky Mountains National Park - beautiful, beautiful - can only imagine it in the autumn!  We traversed the entire road and stopped off to tour the Park's outdoor farm museum - original buildings from a pioneer farm - the entire setting looked like it was right out of the pages of "Little House on the Prairie".

I think I found Michele the perfect homestead

She's trying to act like she's excited with the prospect of 'settling in'....

I'm still not sure why great great Grandpa left this area for Illinois and the Oregon Trail....

Dinning room

Building fences was no easy matter...

Corn Crib... with last year's corn ears

What a neat barn

Drive thru the Daniel Boone National Forest

Rivers were crowded with families, floaters and fisherman....  often all in the same place....

Off to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and into Kentucky.....
