September 5, 2013 Air & Space Museum

We spent the morning servicing Spirit Journey after her cruise into DC.  We lost the main water pump for domestic water on Tuesday so getting it replaced was high on the list.  Fortunately we have dock water connections so the little 'essentials' like showering, clothes and dish washing and operating the toilets are back 'on line'!

We walked over the few blocks to the Air & Space Museum for a few hours in the afternoon, nice to see the Capitol up close again!  Saw a 3-D movie about the Hubble Telescope - awesome!

Smithsonian's "Castle"

Always a treat to visit the Smithsonian's museums and exhibits.

Saturn 5 rocket

Missiles, rising about three stories in height...

.
One of the things we remembered we didn't like .... rush hour traffic at 5:30......

We're docked at Capital Yacht Club, right next door to the DC Seafood Market (conveniently).  Last night's dinner was crab cakes, shrimp, oysters on the half shelf, clam chowder, hush puppies, and a few other tidbits.  Yummy...and quite enough left over for tonight's meal as well.

Around the corner from the Yacht Club.

Our view from the back deck.  Made a little hot crab dip tonight too.
